Was there today on 9/14 and must have dropped my car keys in the river upstream of the library rd parking lot. If anyone finds a Mini Cooper key fob let me know.

I didn't find it, but I'm curious...

Is that key "electronic"?

Will it survive a prolonged bath? A short one?

I'm old school, still have a little metal stick that can be duplicated most anywhere, but I know more and more cars are going to those fobs.

Yes it was and probably dead by now. Was wet wading and probably fell out when I reached for my phone. Usually stow it in my pack but was too anxious to test a new rod.

This is the very reason my key fob is kept in a small ziploc bag at all times. I'm traveling for work and my car is currently sitting at the airport and I have the key in my pocket in its small ziploc bag. I just push the buttons thru it. They are too damn expensive to have to replace. Sorry to hear about yours though!

You can get them pretty cheap now especially for older cars, the last one i replaced was 20 bucks (car is 2003 though)
